Microsoft Outlook Distribution List question?
Posted by admin
I am trying to create a Distribution List in Outlook.
The distribution list is all set up. So when I create a new email, I click the “To:” button, then I select the Distribution list I created.
I then click “to”, and it adds the distribution to the email. It then adds the distribution in the “to” field. It has a little “+” box next to the Distribution List.
But when I send out the Distro, everybody sees everybody’s name. ***I want them to see ‘+ Email List for ACME Corp’***
Thanks for any help you can provide!!!
1) I don't want to BCC everybody
2) I tried sending it to myself. But when it is received, everybody on the test list is not included in the “Email List for ACME Corp” (even though I sent it as the “+Email List for Acme Corp”)…..

If you don't all of your recipients to see the names in the distro, then next time, don't use 'To' but use 'BCC'. Put your email in address in the "To" field - that way can confirm that your mail was sent and also not display the other names.

I usually solve this by sending the email to the distribution list to myself as the recipient, and BCC the distribution list.

When you created you Dist. List, you were asked to name it. I'm assuming you named it EmailListfor ACMECorp. When you send out an e-mail and select this, that is all that will be seen, however, if you open the list by hitting the + sign, it will display the people within the list. Do a test including yourself in the dist list (if you haven't already). I suspect you will see the name of the Dist. List as you prefer.
