Pls help. Some crook hacked my email and YM. It happened last night, Aug 14. Any thoughts? Can I trace them?

My YM and email got hacked last night. I got some of my personal infos on my emails. Now this crook is sending messages on my contacts. I contacted most of the people on my lists and warned them not to reply because he will send you a link and I'm postitvely sure that's where I got that virus. Please help. Is there any way I could trace this crook? I have created a new email. Last night was so disturbing and frustrating it took me several hours just to update my files, my credit cards and all that.

You probably downloaded a virus, spambot, or something like that. It has taken over your computer and is using it (and your address book) so send spam, viruses, etc. You need to clean this out of your computer asap and install a decent anti-virus program.

Yes there is away you can trace him , if you view the sorce in the link he sent you his IP will be in the 1st 3 lines ……… but the smart thing to do would be to send the link off to yahoo while it can still be viewed .. the phishers delete links quickly and make new ones so time is of the essence ….
