Can't get into my yahoo account, its inactive but cant create new account using same name?
Posted by admin
long story short, I got an account with yahoo in 2000. I used it for years and one day a couple years ago, it wouldnt let me log in. I contacted customer support and because I didn't fill out security information correct they could not tell me what the password was. Thing is I never changed it so I wonder if someone reported abuse or something against me and the account was blocked. I tried just now sending a test message to that account and it bounced back. I want to get in touch with people I had on my list and figured the account must be inactive since it boucnhed back so I tried to create a yahoo email with the same and it says its already taken.
Its my fault that back 7 years ago I was paranoid about giving proper information and its the reason Im in the situation Im in now.
Anyone know how I can correct this if any?

Yahoo Service may be able to help, but I doubt it. Account names, supposedly, like old, unused phone numbers, become "available" again after a time, but this does not seem to be the case for you. And even if you got that email address back, all the information that was in there previously would be gone. But, if you want to try checking it further:
